The state of Gujarat in India has one of the best and most developed road networks in India. The total villages of the Banaskantha District is 1244 villages in which 1230 villages jointed by pacca road & only 14 villages to be connect by pacca road. The Southwest Monsoon which last from June to September every year bridge heavy rainfall and floods to the otherwise semi and areas of the Banaskantha District affected and disturbance in traffic for long duration observed. The Pachayat R&B Dn. had over the year identified 7 Road aggregating to about 70 Km length of Panchayat roads which get submerged for varying periods causing disruption to traffic and economic loss to the region. The main reasons for submergence range from inadequate drainage in the area, obstruction in the nature drainage of the area. Panchayat R&B Dn. gad prepared detailed estimates at get the sanctioned from the competent authority & fixed the agency by inviting the tender, G.S.R.R.D.A had established P.I. units in Banaskantha to look after the works of Nabard, Kisan Path & Marun and fixed MMCPL for consultancy services for supervision & quality control (PMC) for this work total 22 packages having 54 works approximate length of 290 km supervised incl. quality control measure by MMCPL.
PROJECT OUTCOME :
As a result of the supervision & quality control work done by MMCPL, the P.I.U. & Ex. Eng., R&B Dn., Banaskantha achieve very good riding surfaced of road and by implementation of remedial measures to convert the submerged roads into allweather roads. The PMC work had been completed 2010.
